Somehow, April slipped up on us and is already gone! Time flies when life is busy, and it certainly is that at Ventura Farms.
March 27th marked the beginning of our latest Internet Auction, and as the April 27th ending approaches, bidding is picking up. Featured in the auction are seasoned show horses, Patriot VF and National Champion, Cenntury, as well as youngsters such as Alada Beyadere VF, Armanda VF, and Forte Afire VF. Each has something unique and exciting to offer. Patriot VF just won the Open Show Hack at the Los Robles de Oro Show, while Cenntury is well-known for his National Championship in the Yearling Sweepstakes class. Forte Afire VF was named Champion Gelding over all ages at the Whittier Lions Club Show and second in his class at the competitive Scottsdale All Arabian Show! Alada Beyadere VF is one of our tallest yearlings and looks like she’ll follow in the footsteps of her full sister, Lads Bouquet VF, our Hunter Pleasure Futurity hopeful for this year’s U.S. Nationals. And Armanda VF combines beauty with a perfect dispostion. She’ll make an outstanding amateur halter horse and eventual performance horse and broodmare. With only Apollonia HCF left to foal, the fillies are leading the colts, six to two! Some of these babies will be available for purchase, but it’s going to be a difficult decision to let any of them go. It is an outstanding group with fillies by Alada Baskin, Psymadre, Pyro Thyme SA, and Versace and colts by TF Psymreekhe and Afire Bey V! Team VF traveled to Paso Robles for Los Robles de Oro Show and brought home the blues! Patriot VF won the Show Hack, while Alada Psynergy VF+++/ won the Championship in her Side Saddle debut. Owned by Romney and Caroline Maupin, Alada Psynergy VF+++/ also won the Hunter Pleasure Open, taking Reserve in the Championship. Felicity VF, owned by Brian and Cristina Ferris, claimed the Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse Championship!
Next stop will be the Pacific Slopes Championships and Cal-Bred Futurities! We are thrilled to have Greg Knowles handling our up and coming young stallion, Midas VF, in the Cal-Bred Three-Year-Old Colts, as well as Gianni Versace VF and Fabio VF in the Yearling Cal-Bred classes. And the excitement continues! Gerard Paty will lead the flashy Psyzable Fortune VF in the 3-Year-Old stallion class, as well as the flashy, Miss Nick VF and Scottsdale finalist, Fuego VF. It should prove an exciting weekend, with the performance horses competing as well. Alada Psynergy VF+++/, after two consecutive wins in the Pacific Slope Hunter Junior Horse division, will step into Open competition in Hunter Pleasure, as well as competing in the Pacific Slopes Ladies Side Saddle. Felicity VF will take up where Alada Psynergy VF+++/ left off, stepping into the Hunter Junior Horse Championship! Om El Shattakhan will be making his show hack debut! We hope to see you all there!
